This piece was from a long thin piece of Cherry Wood that was brought to my attention by Rich, but I didn't quite know what to do with it. I started carving pieces away, constantly changing my mind about what to do with it, until I ended up with a classical cylindrical pipe with a barrel-shaped bowl. The size of the pipe with the type of wood makes it very fragile and easy to burn, but it was sold to a friend of mine who I know will take care of it. It think it should be mentioned that this pipe was traded for a Glaive.

This pipe was sanded down with a very fine sandpaper and then finished with Tung oil to a hand rub finish with as few as 2 coats of oil to it. The natural beauty of the wood didn't need any more, and I wanted the grain to still stick out as much as possible. The length of this piece makes it very easy to use and comfortable to hold while giving a sense of Class to the smoker. The flat bottom of the pipe makes it very stable when laid on a table or desk, and seems fitting to a student's desk or study.
